Resolving to do anything at any point in time is no easy feat. The fact that everything changes ups the ante. But we can count on change, for it is the communion of all universal phenomena.
Sometimes we have to revolve, to circle back, to rotate on the axis in order to see where progress has been made.
The Universe communes with us every single day. If we’re keeping it 100% (which I think we do around here), we are divinely spoken to in every moment. That’s how the Universe gets down. It’s how we tap into our connection with the ever changing cosmos.
We are but microcosmic manifestations of a much larger story.
The first New Moon of the year is occurs tomorrow, Saturday January 9, 2016 at 7:30 PM CST. It is seems so fitting that she has made her way to the sign of Capricorn, a spirit well-versed in both land and sea conditions. This sign offers a balanced perspective, and encourages resourcefulness. It is said that Capricorn (often associated with a mountain goat) was long known as the mythical sea-goat, an entity with the ability to understand its purpose both physically and spiritually.
There is so much we can learn from this New Moon in Capricorn, about ourselves, and ultimately, about the depths of our existence.
When Capricorn and the New Moon tango, their proverbial feet/hooves/tails ready the earth to plant the genus of seeds that intends to evoke real transformation. They don’t play. In fact, Capricorn is tilling some serious soil around the cosmos, as it is also arm in arm with Mercury from today, until February 23, 2016. This influence makes our thoughts methodical, leading to sobering emotions glazed with reality and glaring truths.
In Chinese medicine, we can keep in mind the Earth, Metal, Water trine that was present during the last Full Moon of 2015. In other words, this potent time is the perfect moment to be honest with ourselves about the foundation we are building in the New Year. A question that I’ve been asking myself is: How can I take root with the utmost compassion for myself as well as others, so that I can properly nourish a personal and collective vision?
We are also gearing up for a shift in romance as Venus makes her move from Scorpio to Sagittarius. This change of lovers allows for greater resilience in matters of the heart, which is a good thing.
The human heart is the original drum.
We need this magical beat-box to be as buoyant as possible. Sagittarius is concerned with a love that is universal. It wants to make you feel the truth, and know it deeply between all your curves and edges. Now, Sagittarius can also be blunt, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
We need firm reminders that love is verb; it is for us to actively receive, and to give.
Being human is an exercise in being a Griot for the Cosmos and the Creator. This point in history is really pulling for us understand our power, and it’s evidence is in the stars. Like our sea-goat friend Capricorn, we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.
Within our hearts, and the hearts of others is a spirit-infused consciousness that has traversed with us from time immemorial.
Utilize the energy of this New Moon to tap into this collective rhythm when you need a gentle reminder that you are never alone on this journey.
With peace, and New Moon blessings!
