Monica Trinidad is a community-taught artist born and raised on the southeast side of Chicago. Trinidad’s art work utilizes her creativity to challenge systems of oppression and violence. Her framework, which is rooted in restorative justice, abolition, and grassroots organizing is radically sharp, and honest.
I am swooning over her series of “Hands of Resistance”, a series of hand-studies which conveys a serious message. You can view more of Trinidad’s amazing work on her new website.
In solidarity,
Christian
Artistic Insight is a series which highlights the work of radical artists who utilize their creative talents to encourage social and environmental justice.
