Tan Xiang (Heart of Sandalwood)

02-19-15Today I’m celebrating the Lunar New year with incense, a call to my Dad (it’s his Birthday!), and studies. On deck today is Herbology, so this seems like the perfect time to tell you about Tan Xiang, or Heart of Sandalwood. This warm, and aromatic herb is actually used as a modern-day treatment for coronary artery disease. In the category of Regulate Qi it is also stellar for stagnation in the upper part of the body, especially in the chest. Friends, check out this rad vintage photography of a Chinese New Year celebration circa 1946 via Time magazine. Also, make sure to light some incense (maybe some sandalwood?), and say a prayer to your ancestors. ♡ In Solidarity, Christian
